While ABC has declined to comment on this story, we have been told that Nash, ABC, and ABC Signature/Kapital Entertainment all agreed that the show had reached a creatively satisfying conclusion and made the decision to end production.

The renewal of A Million Little Things for a fifth season, which was announced in May, was a nail-biter despite the fact that the fourth season finale left off on a cliffhanger involving James Roday Rodriguez’s cancer-stricken Gary.
As Nash admitted to TVLine at the time, “there’s no question we were a bubble show.” But the ABC creative team was unanimous in its desire to make [a fifth season] a reality, so I have no doubt that it will. The fans would have been outraged, saying, “You can’t end a series like that!” if it hadn’t happened.
Season 4 of A Million Little Things saw a decline in both its total and demo viewership, with 4.1 million viewers and a 0.7 demo rating (with Live+7 playback) on average. It ranked sixth in viewers and tied for fifth in the demo among ABC’s eight dramas from the previous year. However, it had the second-best DVR increase of any ABC show.
Is There Going To Be A Season 5 Of “A Million Little Things,” Or Has It Been Canceled?
So far, ABC has not picked up A Million Little Things for a fifth season. This does not rule out the possibility of its occurrence, though. In previous years, ABC has made the decision to renew the show in May, so there is still time.
DJ Nash was also given permission by the network to skip the season four finale. In other words, there is either a huge cliffhanger with no resolution, or the show is renewed for a second season.
“Everyone pushed for us to not finish the story,” Nash told TV Insider. I can’t wait to see what Season 5 brings. Recently, I’ve been asking people if they think we should film a final scene to tie up all the loose ends.
Anyway, what? No one has been more insistent that we maintain this cliffhanger than I have. The writers’ room did a fantastic job [telling] that story. I was present during the filming of the series finale and can attest that the cast gives outstanding performances.

A Million Little Things Season 5 Release Date
On May 13, 2022, ABC helped announce the continuation of the series. A Million Little Things is also currently airing episodes from its fourth season, with the finale, titled Just In Case, set to air on May 18, 2022.
It seems premature to ask when the fifth season of A Million Little Things will premiere. Based on historical trends, we can expect the following season to be the best in 2023 around the middle of the year.
How Does Season 5 Of “A Million Little Things” Possibly Develop?
The fourth season focuses on Gary’s ongoing inability to overcome the effects of his traumatic past and its impact on his present and future. As Maggie settles into her new job, she gains insight into office politics.
As their relationship progresses, Maggie and Gary begin dating and eventually go on a double date with Eddie and Anna. Maggie and Gary’s marriage is put to the test in the season finale, and Eddie learns an unbelievable fact about Anna.
Theo’s mother is in a bind, and he goes to an unexpected source for assistance.
Eddie may choose to confront Anna about her secret at the beginning of the fifth episode. Given that Maggie and Gary are likely to encounter additional challenges, we may soon find out the true strength of their bond.
Maggie and Melora’s friendship should be fascinating to watch develop. In addition, the tight-knit group of friends is likely to grow even tighter as they endure new challenges together.
