Details Emerge On Apparent Love Triangle In Wallkill Murder-Suicide

According to the New York Post, a man who was off-duty with the NYPD followed his wife and her 20-year-old dog walker to a hotel in the Hudson Valley before chasing them in a vehicle, shooting dead her alleged lover, and then killing himself.

This new information comes after the man had followed his wife and her dog walker to the hotel.

On Sunday, May 9, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the event took place in the parking lot of the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in the town of Wallkill, which is located in Orange County.

According to Lieutenant Robert McLymore of the Wallkill Police Department, when officers got on the scene at the Buffalo Wild Wings, they found Sullivan County resident Edward Wilkins, age 20, of Wurtsboro, and Port Jervis resident Sean Armstead, age 36. Both men were from the town of Wurtsboro.

Wallkill police have declined to provide any other information, however the Post has claimed that Armstead had phoned in sick to look for his wife, Alexandra Vanderheyden, who is 35 years old. Wallkill police have declined to release any additional information.

According to a report from the Post, the accused lovers travelled to the hotel in their respective vehicles at approximately 3:45 p.m., and Vanndereheyden parked down the street out of fear that her husband was following her.

The couple reportedly spent a couple of hours in the room at the La Quinta, which is located close to the Buffalo Wild Wings, before going to two other entertainment facilities and then heading back to the hotel, where they picked up Vanderhyden’s car along the way. According to the newspaper, the couple also visited the Buffalo Wild Wings.

It was reported that Armstead chased them out of the hotel room, at which point the couple jumped into their vehicle and fled. However, the jealous officer reportedly rammed their vehicle, sending them spinning into the parking lot of Buffalo Wild Wings, where Wilkins jumped out of the car and ran for his life, according to the Post.

Wilkins, who worked for Vanderheyden’s dog walking business, was reportedly injured in the back and head by bullets fired by the officer after he drew his gun out of his holster and fired approximately 16 shots, according to the Post.

According to the Daily Mail, he then shot himself and fell on top of the lifeless body of his wife’s lover after the latter had already been shot.

There, Wilkins reportedly leaped out of the car and ran for his life as he attempted to escape the officer’s pursuit.

According to the Daily Mail, after he had already shot his wife’s boyfriend, he then shot himself and landed on top of his wife’s lover’s lifeless body. His wife’s lover had already been shot.
