Sony and Marvel may be hard at work on Spider-Man 4, but there’s still no word on when fans can expect to see it in theatres.
After much speculation, Kevin Feige finally revealed the release dates for Phase Five and a few major Phase Six films at Marvel Studios’ epic Comic-Con panel. As a Sony release, however, a new Spider-Man film was never going to be announced there.
Longtime Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal did hint at a new trilogy prior to the release of No Way Home. At the premiere in December 2021, however, she backtracked and said it was really just a wish.
Shortly after, Feige confirmed that a new film is in the works, and in May of 2022, Sony CEO Tom Rothman said they “hope to get working on the next Spider-Man movie” with “that whole group,” presumably referring to Tom Holland, Zendaya, and co.
There’s a fresh slate for the next Spidey film to do whatever he wants after No Way Home. Although this bodes well for the future, it also suggests that we may be nearing the end.
According to Holland, “a lot of that emotion came from the act of saying goodbye,” which is one of the film’s central themes. “There definitely was a sense for me, as an actor, that this was the last time that I could potentially don the suit.”
When Will Spider-Man 4 Release?
Marvel chief creative officer Kevin Feige took the stage in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con and announced Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as teased Phase 6 and the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga.
Despite the buzz, Spider-Man received only a passing mention in a post-panel interview.
Even though Spider-Man isn’t around, that shouldn’t send up red flags. The MCU reworked its plans after hearing Sony and Disney go over their revised agreement for No Way Home again.
Release dates for what would eventually be titled No Way Home were originally July 16, 2021, then November 5, 2021. For Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, this meant moving the premiere date from November to March 25 of the following year. In addition, the date for Thor: Love and Thunder were moved from February 18 to February 11, 2022.

Spider-Man 4 Plot
Holland is one of the few people who has any idea where the show could go from here. Recently, he revealed to Fandom that he has pitched Sony an idea for a potential fourth Spider-Man film, but he wouldn’t elaborate for fear of spoiling No Way Home.
There’s this one idea I had that I pitched to the studio,” he said. But if I told you that, it would spoil [No Way Home], so I have to keep that one to myself for the time being.
Jacob Batalon’s portrayal of Ned Leeds has also been the subject of speculation. A number of outlets are curious as to whether or not he will play the Hobgoblin in an upcoming Spider-Man film, but in an interview with Variety, he steadfastly refused to answer the question.
‘I feel like I’ve learned from all my years working for Marvel to just not say anything,’ he said. When asked to comment on a topic, he said, “I can’t really speak on things because if I say something that might actually be true, then I ruin something.”

Spider-Man 4 Cast
Tom Holland has been relatively tight-lipped about his plans for the future of Peter Parker, preferring to keep the spotlight on the upcoming third film.
After first being quoted as saying, “Maybe it is time for me to move on. Peter Parker is a big part of my life, so I have to think about him, and if I’m still playing Spider-Man at age 30, I’ve done something wrong.
The answer to that question is, “I don’t know if I’m going to be a part of it. I’ll never let go of Spider-Man, and I know [producer] Amy [Pascal] and the studio is eager to figure out where the character goes from here.
“If that’s the case, then that’s very exciting, but if it’s time for me to walk away, then I’ll do so with pride,”
No Way Home doesn’t give any hints that Holland will take on more of a mentor role for a future Spider-Man (perhaps Miles Morales), but it’s possible.

Naturally not! There hasn’t even been an official confirmation, so you’ll have to settle for repeat viewings of No Way Home in the meantime.
