At the 65th annual Grammy Awards, Beyoncé surpassed all other artists in terms of number of awards won, while the ceremony also celebrated 50 years of hip-hop.

As the event came to a close, Harry Styles was presented with the prestigious prize for album of the year. The presentation was hosted once again by Trevor Noah, making this his third consecutive year in that role.

Beyoncé, who had already won the most Grammys of any female artist ever, eclipsed the late Hungarian-British conductor Georg Solti when she received her fourth award of the night, bringing her overall number of Grammy Awards to 32, which is more than anybody else in the history of the event.

This year, she also tied the record for the most nominations ever after garnering nine nominations, bringing her career total to 88. She now shares this record with her husband, Jay-Z, who also has 88 nominations.

Beyoncé was honored with nominations in prestigious award categories such as record of the year, song of the year, and album of the year, the latter of which she has never taken home.

The program on Sunday also included a celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, which featured performances from Big Boi, De La Soul, Missy Elliott, Ice-T, Lil Wayne, The Lox, Method Man, Public Enemy, Queen Latifah, and many more artists.

Harry Styles, Bad Bunny, Mary J. Blige, and Lizzo were among the many other musicians who took the stage throughout the course of the evening.

At the pre-telecast ceremony for the Grammy Awards, which took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, the majority of the night’s prize recipients were revealed.

During that event, Viola Davis was presented with an award for outstanding audiobook narration; this achievement gave her the coveted distinction of EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony).
