How Well Do You Know Sam Brinton? A Government-Issued Likeness Of Samuel Brinton

According to Nevada state court records, the nonbinary Biden administration employee in charge of nuclear waste policy has been charged with grand larceny for the second time in less than three months.

On Thursday, Las Vegas prosecutors charged Samuel Brinton, the DOE’s deputy assistant secretary for spent fuel and waste disposition, with grand larceny of an item worth at $1,200 to $5,000.

As far as we can tell, an arrest warrant had been filed for Brinton, who is one of the few nonbinary federal officials in history.

Brinton will have to go to court later this month in Minnesota state court to face identical charges stemming from an incident in September at the Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport (MSP).

A criminal complaint filed on October 26 accused Brinton of taking a luggage worth $2,325 from an MSP baggage carousel on September 16.

After a woman reported her Vera Bradley bag stolen on September 16th, MSP officers checked surveillance tape and caught Brinton snatching the bag, removing the tag, and running off with the suitcase.

After being caught carrying the same bag on two separate visits to the nation’s capital, Brinton admitted to stealing it from a store in an interview with police but attributed the theft to exhaustion.

The DOE placed Brinton on leave without explanation shortly after the charges were brought against him. Once the initial reports of the accusations surfaced in late November, the agency acknowledged Brinton was placed on administrative leave.

A BIDEN administration official has refused to comment on whether or not the nonbinary official who was accused of stealing a woman’s luggage is still receiving compensation.

A DOE official previously told Fox News Digital, “Dr. Kim Petry is handling the duties of deputy assistant secretary of spent fuel and waste disposition while Sam Brinton is on leave.”

Yet, the DOE has been silent about why Brinton is on leave or whether or not she is still being paid by the government.

Concerned Republican legislators demanded answers regarding whether or not Brinton is still receiving government paychecks and whether or not the DOE canceled his security clearance after the event.

Wyoming Senator and Republican Conference Chair John Barrasso also urged Granholm to dismiss Brinton in a letter. Barrasso serves on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

Brinton, a nonbinary gender-fluid person, made news in June when she was assigned to a post overseeing nuclear waste policy at the Department of Energy’s Office of Nuclear Energy.

Furthermore, Brinton has written on his blog about his involvement with the drag queen group Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.

The allegations brought against Brinton in Las Vegas were first reported by local media on Thursday, specifically by 8 News Now.

The outlet claims that, identical to the event in Minnesota, Brinton took luggage from another passenger at Las Vegas’s Harry Reid International Airport.
