It’s official—Zendaya won the Golden Globe for Best New Artist! She was unable to be present at the ceremony on January 10 to personally receive her award for best actress in a drama, but she is grateful to have won nonetheless.
On Tuesday evening, the actress who plays Rue in “Euphoria” posted a black and white snapshot of herself in character on Instagram and accompanied it with a touching statement directed toward the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
She began by saying, “I want to begin by saying how sad I am that I wasn’t able to be there tonight, but I just wanted to say thank you to @goldenglobes for this great honour.”
“To my other nominees, I consider it an honour to be included with you, and I have the utmost respect for everyone of you. I would want to express my gratitude to everyone in the ‘Euphoria’ family; without you, none of this would be possible.”

The star of “Euphoria” received her first nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award on January 11 for her portrayal of Rue, for which she has won two Emmys. She posted on Instagram that she was “very honoured” to have been nominated again.
Above the news, she penned, “Oh wow…this is really wonderful.” Zendaya was nominated for best female actor in a drama series, along with Jennifer Coolidge (“The White Lotus”), Elizabeth Debicki (“The Crown”), Julia Garner (“Ozark”), and Laura Linney (“Ozark”).

In the meantime, actress Zendaya, who made history by being the youngest-ever two-time Emmy winner, has now added a Golden Globes statuette to her collection for her performance in HBO’s critically acclaimed teen drama series, Euphoria.
The actress was unable to be there at the ceremony, but she accepted the prize on Instagram and gave a brief message in which she thanked her family and fans for supporting her on Euphoria.
Zendaya began by expressing regret that she will be unable to attend the ceremony in person to accept the award, before going on to express gratitude to the organisers for bestowing such an extraordinary honour onto her.
Unfortunately, I was unable to attend tonight’s ceremony, but I wanted to personally congratulate the Golden Globes for this tremendous distinction. It’s an honour to be listed alongside such accomplished individuals; I respect and admire each of you.
She said, “Thank you to my Euphoria family, without you, none of this is possible. The actress went on to express her gratitude to her audience for making Rue a part of their hearts, saying that she is speechless at the honour.
