The Gansevoort Peninsula will be home to a 14,000-foot long length of sand when the Hudson River Park Trust finally gets around to opening their new site this summer.

Gansevoort will be converted into a big green oasis,” as stated by the Hudson River Park Trust. “Complete with a robust ‘beach’ on the southern side.”

According to Doyle, “when that occurs, there will be an opportunity for people to have their feet on both the sand and the water.”

“The water is actually extremely clean a lot of the time, but on the days that it isn’t clean and you can see it, kids may actually become sick,” said Doyle. “The water is clean a lot of the time.”
